Hybrid Type D Interlock -

The hybrid type D door interlock has two parts: a main body with one or more cylinders and a latch block. When the main body is separated from the latch block, the lock bolt is retained in the withdrawn position and the key is held in the interlock. Therefore, the key is always held in the interlock whenever the door is open.

When the door is properly closed, the key can be turned, extending the lock bolt into the latch block. After the lock bolt is completely extended, the key may be removed from the interlock.

The interlock housing and latch block are made from brass. The key, lock bolt and all internal parts are constructed from 316 stainless steel. The lock bolt is 5/8" diameter and the throw, or travel, of the locking bolt is ¾".

OPTIONS
• Stamp Key Interchange - specify an alphanumeric code to be stamped on the cylinder face and the key (e.g. A1, A2, B1, etc.). See Data Sheets 11.1,
11.3 and 12.1 for details.
• Multi-Cylinder - up to 3 cylinders available. Please specify E or W key removable position for each cylinder.
• Key Removable - the single cylinder type D is always built key removable "E". If the second and/or the third cylinder is to contain a personnel key that is available when the door is unlocked, designate those cylinders as key removable W.
Dust Covers - See Data Sheet 11.1 for details.
Mounting Bolts - See Data Sheet 11.2 for details.
Adapter Plate - An adapter plate can be fastened to the housing to allow front mounting. See note on drawing at left and Data Sheet 11.1 for details.

NOTE: You do not need to specify a lock bolt length when ordering Type D interlocks. Only our standard length D lock bolt will allow the lock to work with the latch block.
