Keys - (to

All KIRK® brass keys are made of nickel-silver.
Due to the proprietary key section used to make each
key, only the Kirk Key Interlock Company can furnish
these keys for your interlock system. Each key can be
stamped with a key interchange for an additional cost.
This key interchange can be an alpha-numeric combination
up to 5 characters long. Examples of key interchanges
are A1, B1, A2, B2, C1, etc.
Duplicate Keys -
Each brass interlock is supplied with a key in its lock.
These keys are required during the installation of the
interlock(s) on equipment. This then provides more keys
than are necessary for operation of the interlock system.
Once the interlocks have been installed, all extra keys
should be removed from the system and destroyed or retained
by a responsible person. If additional keys are required
due to loss or damage, please:
1. Print Duplicate Key Release
Form from website.
2. Complete the form and sign your name.
3. Fax this form and your purchase order to Kirk Key
Interlock Company at (330) 833-1528 for immediate delivery.
Record Keeping -
With our ultimate user record keeping dating back to
1945, you can rely on the Kirk Key Interlock Company
to coordinate and number your keys in coordination with
existing equipment currently in service.
Warning!
- A key interlock system operates using interlocks and
a limited number of keys in a predetermined sequence.
The purpose of this sequential operation of a key interlock
system is to safeguard emplyees and protect equipment.
The use of duplicate or replacement keys could provide
a means to circumvent the sequential operation of a
key interlock system and thereby defeat the protections
afforded by the key interlock system. Consequently,
any duplicate or replacement key supplied by Kirk Key
should be secured and controlled by a responsible person
to prevent any misuse of a duplicate or replacement
key.
We have no way of evaluating your need for duplicate
or replacement key(s). Kirk Key Interlock Company is
not liable for misuse of any duplicate, replacement
or master keys which might result in any death or injury
to any person or damage to any property, or loss of
use thereof, irrespective of whether it is alleged that
Kirk Key was negligent in supplying such duplicate or
replacement key.
