As of June 30, 2004, all 7-pin type P padlocks will be designed so that the key may be removed only when the shackle is closed. Some older style type P padlocks and some special 6-pin type P padlocks are constructed so that the key may be removed when the shackle is either open or closed. If your interlock system contains some older type P padlocks, and the key retaining feature is important to your interlock scheme, please discuss with a Kirk® product coordinator. OPTIONS
